I'm really impressed with what they are doing with this magazine!

I had to call 4 times to get my last issue. Lost in the mail the first time I guess. And then I had to stay on them for a while to get it. I'm not looking forward to that again, as I've still not recieved issue # 7 as of Dec 1rst, darn.

I had the same problem with them, I have 2 issues still missing that from my last subscription. NewTekPro is dieing just like its predecessor's did. KeyFrame is a better mag and it is alive and healthy. plus it covers just lightwave and you can pick it up in a newstand. Head ache free.

Yes, I received mine Friday the 15th.
I'd also add here, if you are having a problem, send an email to to Alice or Charles (the publishers).
I found them very responsive, and responsible. I mistakenly resubscribed twice this year, and Alice contacted me via email asking me if this is what I really wanted to do... before charging it to my card. That doesn't sound like a company going under.

The content of Newtekpro is always worthwhile, and they have some fine contributers to stories and tutorials. However, there's some pretty bad management from those charged with distributing the magazine.

What kind of company takes payment for a magazine subscription and doesn't deliver anything for six months or more? What kind of company doesn't respond to inquiries about the delay?

This is no way to run a reputable company. This is not a way to encourage people to subscribe. I think they must be in total chaos.

Cuz I still don't have anything past the Jimmy Heutron issue. I am pretty sure that wasn't the last issue of the first subscription (there was suppose to be 6 wasn't there? The Neutron issue was #4 I think) but I could be wrong....

So far I have had a subscription to newtekpro for 2 years and have only missed 1 issue (monkey on front.) They did migrate my old subscription to the new company. I had my new issue #7 by the fist week of December. I did contact about a missing issue (#3) but to no avail hmmmm......

BTW if your last name starts with a Z you will always be at the end of a mailing list 8>)

I just wanted to add that my copy of NewtekPro Volume2 Number 7 (Locomotion) arrived. Well, it's 7 months after I paid for it, but flicking through reveals there's lots of great content in it. A very worthwhile issue.

Now, if only they could get their distribution department in order!

I know it will hurt their business, but that's what you get for screwing a paying customer.

I actually got a reply back from "Dick And Molly" when i e-mailed them to ask about it.
they said theyd send out a new issue right away and verified my present address.

that was ALMOST one month ago (emails over
december 27th and 28th), and it still hasnt
shown up.
the 28th of this month I'll poltely e-mail them
telling them to cancel my subscription and refund the money to my account - at which point I'll subscribe to Keyframe, and _TRY_ to pick up all 4 issues of Newtek pro when there printed and Volume
3 is being solicited.

I dunno what the problem is. some people seem to be getting it. very weird.

I really wish they could get it into stores. All Ihave to do is go to Tower Records for Keyframe every other month.

ah well.

In the beginning of December, I did call them and ask them about my copy of issue 7, and they told me that they'd send it out with the next batch... but it's still not here.

So I will contact my bank tonight and ask them to dispute the charge on grounds of fraud.
