I have a problem that really bugs me...
Can anyone help me getting a correct shading with area lights? From my understanding of the SDK the illuminate() function returns ONE vector (and color), no matter which light type, and this does not accuratey resemble the behaviour of area lights (and linear lights too i guess...haven't bothered yet)
Many plugins actually do not work correctly with area lights, i just had to find out that even Lightwaves own BDRF shader screws it!!! Arg! I can't even get a colored highlight with a scene that contains area lights...
Someone please tell me how worley can write plugins that seem to work...
the mailing list coudln't help me either (yet)
