ok i have read every eentery on the LWSN on the mac. i can get to to render as -2 while lightwave is open and controlling them, i can even get 2 LWSN apps going at he same time(dual processor machine) but i can't make it render as -3. i remember doing it a long time ago and i cant remmeber how i did it.
i have this as my command string...
-3 -c"The Palace:Users:Rob:Library:Preferences:LightWave Layout 3 Prefs" -d"Lightwave:Content:Scenes:broadsword.lws" 1 1 1
"The Palace" is where LightWave and all related files live and "Lightwave" is the drive where my content directory lives.
this is modified from the string i use for -2 rendering, but i would like to use -3 so i can use my machune while it is cooking, and set up a render on my girls new iMac.
thanks.

-3 -c"The Palace:Users:Rob:Library:Preferences:Lightwave Layout 3 Prefs" -d"Lightwave:Content:" "broadsword.lws" 1 1 1
You separate the scene from the content directory, I think.

Grab the ScreamerNet Controller - http://www.catalystproductions.cc/screamernet - the licence to control one node is free, and then you can just load up the queue with scenes and have LWSN render in the background, while you are working on Lightwave on something else. It's more functional than using -3 (i.e. you can load up the queue, re-arrange scenes in the middle of a render, etc)

I'm also encountering LWSN problems when attempting to run it in -3 mode. The status window flashes for a moment then disappears. I'm using LWSN controller, but a hand coded cmdline line does the same thing. What is strange is that another machine (both using 10.2.3) works fine.
ScreamNet Controller does indeed work. But if you need to hand edit the .lws your screwed. SN Control doesn't recognize these files. Also redirecting/renaming/redefining output isn't possible.
Any hints as to what might be causing this?
