Hi there,

Since it's more a mac question then a shockwave question i post it here.

Has anyone played with the schockwave 3d exporter on osx?
Do u get a preview before u export it?

I dont get any previews, i can export the file but then again i dont have director so i have no cue if it works good.

Hi,

I have a preview. Do you have LW 7.5 or earlier?
If I remember well, the preview option was added to the latest version of the shockwave exporter/osx.

Hi,

No, there is no preview!
But, It does work OK in Director MX (OS X) Everything Director can use even animation is usable.

The ting is, i got myself an assignment for a commercial agency and their offices are not close to my living place.

I dont have Director and it would be stupid to buy this package only for this project.

Do u know if there's a standalone viewer or something what i could use to test it?

If you go to Macromedia.com, you can download a trial version of Director, which may be good for 2 weeks.

Speaking of Macromedia, here is a heads-up/fwiw for Dreamweaver MX users.

Currently, there is a big move from IIs servers to Linux/Apache servers.

In the process, and in order to establish better security, there is a big push towards ssh and sftp, for end users.

The Mac version of Dreamweaver MX will not allow for SYNC using these security enhancements; however, one can tunnel under OS-9.x & DW4 with the aid of a few helpers (there is a Mac howto at MIT (iirc)).

There is no ssh or sftp program available for download for the Mac as stated in the DMX help file.

Macromedia is aware of this and are working on a fix. The same problem exists in Contribute.
