Doh!! i couldn't resist not posting SOMETHING about the new powerbook...
Ever consider how, on a 17" screen, LW would look like a whole new version? Heck with your hands pressed against the smooth, polished aluminum skin, it would even feel different!! And the new backlit keyboard and auto sensing brightness, it would double your productivity to work into the night without having to even get up and turn on a lamp!! Its almost like Lw is twice as fast!!!
I'm surprised that newtek hasn't hopped on this... showing LW 7.5 running on the new powerbook, and pushing it as lightwave 8?!?!?! or at least LW 7.7 or something!!!
Granted this would be the most expensive LW upgrade... at $3200, but hey, maybe they'll throw a training book in...
Ok, go on and flame me for being an idiot for posting this nonsense!!!....

I don't think you're an idiot, Arthur. However, when you say you like to have"your hands pressed against the smooth, polished aluminum skin" I have to say that you're supposed to turn the computer on, not the other way around!

Sorry Arthur, come back to reality
The powerbook is not made of smooth polished aluminum, its made of rough anodized aluminum. And running LW with its ugly interface and gui on a gem like that would be a shame in my eyes, but if i get both for free, well....dream on ingo

Ah, the words 'new version of LW' bring on quite a dreamlike state for me. Does anyone else remember when we got updates to LW...? Like, back in the heady days of April 2002 when 7.5 came out?
For f&%k's NewTek, where are the updates? How about a bug-fix for 7.5? How about any development news whatsoever?
Harumph.

It's called a state of paralysis. No application updates. No processor updates. Stuck in a time warp.

I've also noticed that Chuck Baker doesn't frequent these boards any more. Nothing to say, I guess...
