Does anyone know if there's any problems with LW6.5b in OSX 10.2.3? I remember that people had trouble with a version of Maya PLE. I'm working on my senior project and can't afford to waist time reinstalling OSX. I'm in 10.2.2 now, and simply need to konw if its ok to upgrade to 10.2.3.
btw, I'm on a dual 1Ghz Quicksilver. Even on this box, 6.5 is SLOW! Might anyone know a way to speed it up that doesn't involve spending money?
thanks

I can tell you there are problems with 6.5b in OSX straight up. Since it was a "free" cross-platform upgrade (from OS 9 to X) it was incomplete. You will find that a number of features in LW don't exist in 6.5b for OS X, and some are still missing in 7.5.
However, 10.2.3 was a bug-fix for 10.2.2, and overall has received excellent reviews.

and the reviews you're talking about, are for 6.5 or just 10.2.3 in general?
the main question is, will 6.5b run in 10.2.3 without more problems?
thanks for the reply,

Hey Jonathan,
sorry to give you the bad news but 6.5-6.5b-7.0 barrely worked at all even on properly configured machines.
You'll have to buy 7.5 to fix what was wrong in 6.5b then when you discover the fatal flaws of 7.5 (whimpernet, crap for QT, Sloooow rendering etc) you will have to buy LW8 to fix those problems, then wait untill 8.5 to get any work done.
I'ts been like that for me since 5.5.
My best advice to you is: Don't hold your breath.

ok.... all i want is a yes or no answer...
Will lightwave 6.5b RUN (not have problems fixed.. I'm not expecting that) in 10.2.3?
from what I gather, are you saying it gets worse in 10.2.3 or remains the same. that's all I want to know
thanks
