I am a mac LW 3d user. I am thinking about taking some classes at Future Media Concepts DC office. Has anyone taken classes their or at any of their other offices. I would like to know if they have a good training program.

I live in NC. If you know of any good LW 3d training in this area please let me know.

What do they offer and what does it cost? Do they have a website?

Hey Harold,
I checked out their website. Their Intro and Advanced classes cost $1300.00 for 3 days.
Their Master Class is is $2300.00 for 6 days.
I could sell you every CD and course I have and it would cost hundreds of dollars less.

On top of that each of my courses come with 3 months of support. I have support forums online for each course where you can ask questions anytime and have your work reviewed and critiqued as well. So both of my courses combined would come with 6 months support.

Just my character course has over 40 hrs of quickime movies. The intro course is close to that many hours as well. The World Wide Tour CD has about 10 hrs of material on it. The other CDs have close to 6 hrs combined.
They are giving you 7 hours a day of lecture INCLUDING hands on. My courses and CDs would take over 10 days to watch all the lectures(at 7 hrs per day). You then have 6 months to do the hands on part and get feedback over that time.
The nice thing is that you get the keep the CDs and watch them over and over. I think what I offer is a very good value.

I just received my first set of three c.d's for Larrys Character Animation class and it ROCKS!

I got them on Monday, but did not start using them until last night since I was in awe just watching them for a few hours the first night.

I skipped to some sections for things that I've really wanted to see, such as the texturing, UV's, creating the images for mapping etc..

There is so much on these c.d's it's incredible! Hours and hours of Step by step by step tutorials. This whole thing is very easy to watch and follow with good narrating. And these are just my first set of c.d's! Three jam-packed c.d's of just the modelling and texturing! More will follow soon!

I have some DVD's from Desktop Images that are pretty sweet, but there is nothing like a complete project based tutorial from blank screen to animation.

The cool thing is that he shows various ways to do certain things. You can even see when things do not go quite as planned and how to fix it or get around it without hitting undo umpteen times.

I cannot say enough about this class. I know $900.00 may seem steep and believe me, I restrained myself for quite awhile from purchasing them, but now my only regret about them is that I waited so long to get them!

Well enough talk, I got a class to take!

Thanks Larry
