I recently purchased Lightwave 7.5, and when i did i decided to upgrade my pc a little bit. I bought this new video card and figured it would be great to have two monitors, especially since lightwave seems to be designed for it having modeler and layout seperately.

O.K. that said, my problem is that on my second monitor, the clone, when i open modeler everything looks fine, the viewports are ok and i can create objects, whatever, but when i click on say the file menu or the modeler menu they open in the center of the screen. At first i thought ok, but then when i scroll over it any option which has another pull down opens in the left hand corner. Also the mode pull down only shows one option and doesn't give me the scroll arrow to use the rest of the menu.

i have called tech support at both newtech and bfg and neither of them have been any help. they just say it is each others fault. I downloaded the most recent drivers, still no luck.

i would even be willing to return my video card and get a different one but no one i talk to seems to know anything about running two monitors.

i would really appreciate a little help with this problem.

Try turning off the nVidia "nView" desktop manager (from display properties) and seeing if that helps.

I'm inclined to agree with everyone else. I think its jus a stray setting somewhere in the display properties.

I'm running dual monitors with an Asylum (the 440mx not the 4200 though) card with no problems.

Don't use clone. Use the extend desktop setting. I had the same problem with menus and opengl. -Coz
