I emailed the maker of Ska to encourage him to port to the Mac in hopes of hearing a 'it's coming soon'.
But, i got this message instead:
"I would have no problem to port Ska to the Mac... if only I had a Mac... which I think is not likely to occur soon but who knows..."
So, if you were wondering (heck, I was!). Then wonder no more. Like he said.. who knows?

Didn't someone offer to port PC plugins to Mac in a post about a month ogo - for free???
They were talking about a new plugin/software that was able to do this.
Aaarrrgh... sorry, I'm at work and can't take too much time to go and hunt that specific post down to give you the link...
But if I remember all this correctly, then maybe the creator of the software would be willing to have this done.
Who knows?

The purchase of equipment seems to be a common reason why things aren't ported to the Mac. A few months ago Kenneth Woodruff said he'd like to port a whole bunch of plug-ins to the Mac, however he couldn't afford the software Codewarrior which is essential for the task.
I guess this is the result when people do the work for free. If they were making money on it they could afford to buy the necessary gear.

Ask Richard nicely and he might save the day

I'm all for plugins that cost.. it just seems that they are either free... or cost $300-$500 dollars. There's very little in between. It's funny that as software gets cheaper, third party is holding steady. I wonder if there are any plugins out there that cost more than the application?!
I did mention to Richard (Ska's publisher) about Richard Brak.. (thanks for the URL riki!) whether he follows up or not.. who knows. A lot of coders are highly protective of their IP.
