Hi all
In 6.5 how do I save a transformed model in Layout so that it stays as a sub-patch object and does not get frozen as a high poly object?
Thanks
Alex

turn the subpatch level to 0. that's in the object properties panel, just so you know.

Hi Lernie
Thanks for the suggestion, but I still can't do quite what I want. Even if I put the subpatch value to 0 (in Layout) when I do save transformed, I still get a triangulated object. What I want is to keep the deformed pose but then work on it as a subpatch object. Any other ideas. It is possible from Messiah, so I guess it must be possible from Layout.
Thanks again

Turn off subpatching temporarily in Modeler, needs to have the hub running for this to work. If you have a complex mix of subd and regular polys assign the subds to a part before turning them of so that you can reselect them easily.

Thanks Terry. How do you turn subpatches off in Modeler? I have tried it in the general options box but this only allows patch divisions of a minimum of 1 (it won't accept 0). I assume the hub is running as I have never disabled it. Any ideas?

that's really weird because i just did it and it worked just fine. just in case it means anything i put the subpatch level of DISPLAY to 0.
do you have the hub running? i didnt when i tried it.. i dunno if that makes a difference.
"How do you turn subpatches off in Modeler?"

Lernie and Terry, thank you very much. It works great now - it was the turning off the subpatches in Modeler that did it.
Thanks again.
