Hey there everyone. I had an obscure question. Does anyone know of a file format similar to an autocad file but its microsystem file, I'm not sure if I left a word out from that. and I think its .dng correct me if I am wrong. If anyone does, do you know if there is a way to covert to lightwave file format? there is a project I wanted to approach but they worked with this file format, I would call to confirm bu I can't get the guy I know to answer the phone, and I'm in a hurry. Thanks.

What you mean is .DGN, which is a Microstation native file, DXF is your only route, but you'll need them to save out as DXF from Microstation, and then try to import it into LW, not sure how robust LW's DXF import is, I've had problems with big files, you can only try.

also, the above reply is assuming you have no third party translators and you just use LW.
personally I don't know of a direct .DGN -> .LWO converter, I doubt there will be one.

thanks Matt, I'll have to bother you with another question even though I'm shooting blind on this one and you probably would have recommended, is there a good conversion utility to go from dgn to dxf to lwo? thanks a lot by the way.

I'm afraid I don't know of any, we have Microstation here at work so that's what we'd use if we needed to go to LW from it.
I was going to suggest (depends how big / how many files though) converting the files for you, or at least do a test to see if it's a possibility.
