Can Lightwave 7.5's Mac OS X Preference files be edited in a text editor? Is there a guide as to what each line refers to in these files? For example, close to the beginning of the "LightWave Layout 3 Prefs" file are six references to "WindowShape" and I'd like to know which window is being referred to. Default colors are labeled with numbers from 1-12, and one of the file's lines is "ColorNumberFormat" (set at "0") which leads me to think that there may be different sets of colors available for the bones, lights and cameras based on what this number is.

Some of these things could be deduced by changing things and noting how the files changed, but this would take time.

What got me started was wanting to set the size--and optimally, the default position--of the Image Viewer.

There must be a file somewhere that IDs these Prefs files!

Greg
