Anyone know of any space shuttle models in lwo format? Just saw a model on one of the news channels covering the Columbia disaster, and it was awful. Then again, maybe it was thrown together in a few minutes to get something on the air.

Shouldn't have been, there are plenty available on the net. But then, for fast turn-around, you don't want to worry over high-detail and neat textures. You have to get the shot done quickly in those situations I would suspect.

Theres a shuttle model available over at www.lwg3d.org. Its a bit old (almost three years old), but still stands up OK to most situations....

There are no actual registry type markings on the model, so you could easily stencil any name into it.

Yeah, I figured later when I saw an animation they made with it, highly aliased, that they did it all in a hurry. I still bet they didn't use LW for it, though.
