anytime when I try to fill a large area with a beautifull grassfield, I get trouble with not able to fill the area. The results I get with 100% density and 10 cm of grass is everytime very disapointing empty...

Anyone has a setting on this?

Thanks in advance

Hi R, just use a higher coarseness and a density higher than 100 %.

Use Sas for closeup grass you can see and use other methods for the grass you cant see far away.

Do You want me to send you the settings by e-mail... took me a long time to test it.... but I love Holland people.... otherwise you could follow Larry's or INGO's advices...

Let me know...

Yes, that`s the most economical solution, but if you insist on your grass being Sassy to the horizon, (camera`s going all over the place, f`rinstance) then use multiple instances of Sas to get the volume, (each can have slightly different properties, for more realism); or cut your land up into smaller patchworks and apply separate Sas instances to each of them (fields of different age/crops?).

Then do a lovely render and show it to us all! :)

Herve: I would be very thankfull if you mailed me some settings for sas. Then I would love Luxembourg people too :) ! So, thanx in advance, my mail adress can be found under my profile...

Rory: I did try to use multiple sasquatch in a object, it works perfectly. Only for large landscapes it takes enormous amount of sassettings to fill the area..

Lary: As Rory said... it's for a landscape fly over. Otherwhise I would take your advise gladly.

Ingo: Uhmm.. I skrewed my density up to 2000%. NOT GOOD for my rendertimes :), But thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks all,

Ruuterdetuutert

Well, you haven't said that you want a lot of grass AND a fast rendertime :)

You also might want to check out HD Instance from Happy Digital http://www.happy-digital.com/instance.asp

Thanks.

Again depending on how close you are to the landscape would for me, drive the method i would use. If you are high enough You may be able to get away with textures. If you are close enough to see the grass then you probably cant see the whole landscape. Again you might be able to get away with Saslite in the closest areas and other methods as you get further from the cameraa. You could try using cloned geometry all over as well.
