I have noticed that when I load a backdrop image into Front in Modeler, I lose it in that viewpane if I use the viewpane pulldown menu to go to Perspective, then back to Front, but if I use CMD-0 in conjunction with clicking in the pane I'd like to go to full view, that backdrop stays put.

is this normal operation?

Can you work with multiple Viewports? 4 Viewports and then use the '0 key' to toggle between full screen.
