Hi Everyone,
Well, hopefully it's not really as bad as I think, but here's what happened.....
Tonight I completed my very first rig. Everything was going great. My controllers were working well, the bones deformed properly, and I was really pleased with myself for once. I immediately saved 3 different copies so if I screwed something up I could always go back. I hit F12 and saved the object in Modeler (even though nothing had changed.) I went back to Layout and everything still looked great, however once I closed the scene and then re-opened it a little while later I got this:
Does anyone know what happened? Is there any magic key to undo whatever it was that I did?
Thanks,
-Rob

Yup, you wouldn't believe how many times I've seen that problem at work!
Should just need you to re-rest your bones (press r) - The mesh should reset itself.
Dunno why it does that - One day a mesh will work, the next its exploded, but its something that's easily fixed...

I had a similar situation and I used the "r" meathod to fix. It worked perfectly!
I did think it was because I hadn't set a seperate first key for the sliders. (sliders need to be set for a direction to distort images from... hence, a "null" position to start)
Good to know it... just happens... ?!

Thanks a ton guys,
I'm at work now, but I'll try that immediately when I get home. I'm glad that all that work wasn't in vein.
Many many thanks,

The problem is the rest rotation and rest position found under bone propertys. some times the value gets changed but does not show up till you close the scene and reopen. very bad! What unresting and resting again does is fix these values to there correct value. You can manualy edit that if it a simple error like your looks to be.

Thanks Scott for that piece of interesting info...

Okay...
I've messed with this for a couple of hours now, but still can't figure it out. When I rest "r" all of the bones, I get this:
If I first "reset" the actual geometry and then manually "reset" only a few key bones I can get this close: however.......
.....the right arm still isn't correct and I'm getting some deform problems in the body in the chest area when I move anything (see below
Thanks so much,
-Rob

Whoops, tried to cancel my post.

This is why i mentioned just fixing the settings. Just unactivating and resting the bones can lead to your bones being rested out of place if you have any ik or other motion controlers on them bones. When you active the bones your mesh and the bones have to be in the right place. This is why everyone really wants a setup mode for lw. so that there is an easyer way to turn off everything in your scene and just work with your bones and rig setup.
