It looks like at least four of the Animatrix shorts will premiere on the Internet. You can download them for free here:

The first nine-minute film available for download is called "The Second Renaissance -- Part 1." It has the same director as the LightWave-heavy Blue Submarine #6 -- Mahiro Maeda. Warning: contains a scene or two of extreme violence.

I'm curious, though...does anyone know if LightWave got used for the 3D elements in this short?
