Hi, folks!

Our new forums are open now for registration. You can access them (temporarily!!) at:

http://vbulletin.newtek.com

On Monday we will turn off posting in these old forums, and they will become an archive.

Thanks, Chuck.

I think that the past hardware-related forum topics should be renamed to reflect the operating system being used.

Because a "PC" could conceivably run Windows or Linux, the topic should be renamed "Windows", which would allow for a future separate "Linux" topic, even though both may use the same hardware.

Beam, no offense man, but that doesn't make sense. For PC, Newtek only produces/supports LW on Windows. So, there' really is no need. Granted it'd be nice to have a Linux port, but It's not going to be coming any time soon.

rats
I always liked the newtek forums' lack of icons and simple attractive layout, now with vBulletin it's going to look like an excel file - just like the other forum I frequent :P

Yeah, I kind of like the simple old layout, however most people on the new forums are saying they love it, so I guess Newtek did the right thing.

The Linux renderer was announced to be released last December, and it's running late. I think people experimenting with Linux may want to have a forum to discuss any problems they're having. Some people on the other forums are a bit hostile to any OS that they're not using themselves.

So how do I actually open/read a thread on the new forum? The 'Thread' boxes are all blank and clicking on the 'Replies' number does nothing (a javascript command displays in my browser's status bar but nothing happens). The only links that work for me are the 'Thread Starter' links which just show the person's profie.

I'm getting the same thing in both Safari and Explorer. Anyone else having this problem? I've done all the proper registration and stuff.

I'm registered also and I get the same no permission message when I try to look at attachments. I use IE.

Anthony, I updated my profile and my problems went away.

Thanks Jack, I'll try that myself, although it sounds like you could actually see more than I can. I can't even open a thread!
