I just finished a series of jobs for a client that does syndicated television programs. These were my first ever paid TV gigs, and I want to calibrate what the real market is out there, compared to what I charged. I figure that it will help me in the future, and also it may help out a bunch of you calibrating your jobs.

Here's the deal: I have 6 separate jobs posted on a web page. What I want to know is...

How much would you charge for each particular job, and how long do you think it would take?

Once I get about 20 legitimate responses, I'll drop the bomb - How much I actually charged, and the gory details if anyone needs proof.

I am interested in responses from freelancers like myself, and also bigger companies. If you want to criticize the work, feel free. Just remember for all these jobs I was just one guy working with deadlines, and like I said, it was my first batch of tv jobs. So you know...

Okay: So don't be nice, be honest...

Job4 = $200 to $300
Job6 = $350 to $500

I would not do the 1 one , coz I suck at animation...

Job 1 = $1500 - $2000
Job 2 = $500
Job 3 = $500
Job 4 = $250
Job 5 = $250
Job 6 = $250

On jobs 2 & 3, if you did the music yourself, I would add an additional $250 per job. The music was not too complex, it had a repetitive (looping) beat, and was probably put together quickly. Jobs 2 thru 6 use common elements and that's why I priced them lower. If the african-american stuff had been done for a different client in a defferent market than the latino stuff, I would double the prices on those.
By the way, good work. Keep it up.

I wouldn't charge anything less than $30,000.

#1 has got to be worth at least a week of billing. $3 - 4$K at least? Maybe we're conditioned to think that religious content is typically for a smaller, grass-roots type market that can't afford much. But, for certain clients, it seems like something like that could go for far more than that even.
