How do i go about removing a suface name from the the surface editor? I noticed the rename button on the Suface Editor panel but i couldn't find a delete button.

I tried going back onto the model and renaming the polys with the unwanted surface names as "default", but the previous surface names are still listed.

Can anyone help me out here?

Good question - wish I knew the answer. I've wondered about this also. Hopefully someone will enlighten us.

the surface names will remain as long as you have the model open. when you close the object and reopen it, all surfaces that were no longer used will be gone
