i have not had time to install this yet (on vacation until thursday)

but this looks promising for those of us with the new G4's and the nvidia cards - let's hope this helps lightwave out with many of it's problems.

maybe if others get it installed they can post if it helps/hinders lightwave.

Well, it ain't there as of 1:07am, July 4th. Only 'GeForce2_MX.smi.bin' (an older version) is in that directory.

Wonder where/why they moved it?

I just tried that and it sent me back to the same directory I already checked. And It's still not there.

Is there a mirror somewhere?

Thanks, Phong! You are a gentleman and a scholar!

I downloaded the upgrade and 'Hallelujah!!' Modeler no longer crashes on a dual monitor setup with the Nvidia OpenGl turned on!

It sort of felt a little faster too, but that might have just been the giddiness over not having to restart between apps anymore.

Has anyone tested these new drivers to see if the "missing texture's" in preview is still an issue??

As far as I remember..this has been a problem with all Nvidia cards/drivers on mac since they were first introduced.

Also, xlr8yourmac.com has tested the new drivers with LW 6.5 and found that the same issues it had before still exist.

Glad to see the perfomance increase and bug fixes listed here. But, I'm buying a new G4 soon..and would really like to know if this gets fixed before ordering one. I'd probably just as soon go with the "less performance" of the Radeon if it meant not having to deal with problems/bugs.

Have any of you tested this?

Also, I haven't really heard squat about how the Nvideo Gforce3 works with Mac LW. I mean..I've seen posts from people who bought one who say..it works. But..thats about it.

Any indepth info would be much appreciated! Thanks

dfc

That update... Anyone knows if there is one for non-US languages also? Tried it with "TomeViewer" but it still fails to install.
