For folks having trouble setting their permanent license keys under OS X here are some tips:
If your install did create a license.key file then you will want to use TextEdit to insert the permanent license key.
1)
GO TO:
MAC_HD>APPLICATIONS>TEXTEDIT

2)
From your toolbar at the top of the screen select
TEXTEDIT and from the dropdown select PREFERENCES

In the PREFERENCES menu go to the NEW DOCUMENT FORMAT sub-category and make sure that PLAIN TEXT is the option selected. Then close the Preferences panel.

4)
Now go back to the toolbar and select FILE>OPEN and find the License.key file. Once the file is open replace the temp key that it has with the one that you were given. Then save the changes and close TEXTEDIT.


If your install did not create a LICENSE.KEY file then follow steps 1-3 then select FILE>NEW from the toolbar.
Type in the key and save it as
license.key
to the PROGRAMS folder located in the LightWave folder.
