Hello all,
I have a new dual 800 with a fresh install of 7.0, that was updated to 7.0b yesterday. Now it seems that some of the very essential plugins are broken!
When I try to save an animation as a Quicktime, I get the "cannot load external plugin file...Input-Output:QTTools.p" I have attempted to reload all of the plugins, which seems to work successfully with no errors. But if I load the broken/missing ones individually, I get the same "cannot load" error.
This means that I cannot save out my animations, nor can I load my files that use Quicktime movies as image maps.
There seems to be a problem with the ChanFollow.p plugin too. The benchmark files that use it won't load properly.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Graham B. Wilson

At least for the time being, can you save as individual image files? (jpg, tiff, whatever) You could then use Graphics Converter to compile them into a single quicktime movie very easily (the graphic converter's file menu has a "Convert" option and you can convert multiple files into one quicktime movie that way).
It should at least keep you working till you can figure out the problem.

Myself and a couple of teks here are checking into the matter. In the meantime, try copying the plugin off the 7.0 (or 6.5) cd and replacing it with that one.

When loading up a small scene that I created in LW7, I am also now finding that with G4 OS9 7b that I am getting a 'Plug-in Missing' dialog. Which reads as follows
"No plug-in of the type AnimSaverHandler found with the name Quicktime(.mov)."
I also tried to load QTTools.p but got a "Cannot load extrenal plug-in file" error message.

Riki,
OS 9.2 or 9.1?

Hi Art it's OS 9.1

I've downgraded to the original QTTools.p and ChanFollow.p that shipped with 7.0 and everything seems to be working properly (so far). The benchmark scenes load fine without the Channel Follower error message and I can import and export QT movies. I don't like to mix and match plugins but in this instance, I can't see any negative effects. I'll post more if I do..
