Is there a fix for constant LWSN crashing under OSX? I'm using the -2 command and need to render several scenes. LWSN seems to crash within minutes of starting up a render. I'm running LW 7.0b under OSX 10.0.4. I trashed my prefs, didn't work.

(I love this program, just a little mad at it right now) ;)

I am having the same problem with 7.0b under OS 9.2.1 I have tried 2 batch renders (using only my machine, no networked nodes) of about 10-14 scenes. Each time it has crashed at the beginning of a scene. Once it crashed on the 2nd scene, the other time it got to the 3rd.

I am going to try LWSN Contoller at some point today or tomorrow.

Anybody else having LWSN issues?

Just an update, after my troubles with LWSN on OSX, I installed the OS9 version of LW7b. Same problem. Crashes soon after beginning to render a scene....

It most likely has to do with OSX 10.0.4 The problems should disappear after you upgrade to OSX 10.1 If you can't or just don't wanna buy the upgrade, go to an Apple store (hopefully you like near one) and ask them to burn you an upgrade CD.

It looks like the variable that is crashing LWSN 7b under OSX and OS9 is raytrace shadows. With it off, scenes work perfectly, with it on (and with a light set to raytrace) no scene seems to render in Mode 2 without provoking a Type 2/3. Thanks to Mark Malnoski and Tristam for emailing me on this one..I haven't tried Mode 3 yet but I guess it's the same. If anyone is rendering perfectly in Mode 2 with raytrace shadows on and a light set to raytrace I'd love to hear about it.

Hi All,

We have confirmed the LWSN crash with ray traced shadows under OS 9 and OS X. We will have an updated version of LWSN available for download soon. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

I am not using ray traced shadows, but also having LWSN problems. It locks up after one or two scenes. On Mac os 9.2.1 LW7.0b

Correction to above. I did have raytracing turned on for the lights, but did not have it checked in the render options.
