In order to obtain your lock ID, your computer must recognize that your dongle is present. You might need to download the latest sentinel drivers for the dongle. You can find these on http//www.safenet-inc.com/support/tech/sentinel.asp Click on the Sentinel SuperPro link. Then, select Sentinel Protection Installer v7.2.2. This should update your system and allow your dongle to work. After you download the drivers, make sure the dongle is NOT attached when you install them. After you install them, restart your machine then re-attach the dongle.
If this does not fix the problem I would recommend contacting our technical support staff at 210-341-8444. Or email to tech@newtek.com. They are available Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:30pm Central Standard Time.

| The Product Lock ID/Dongle ID number can be found when you open up Modeler, on the screen that informs you how many days you have left to register LightWave. The Lock ID number should be 4-5 numbers (no letters) and should look something like this: 64553. The Product Lock ID/Dongle ID IS NOT located on the dongle. |

Please run the LightWave v9 Registration Wizard to place your permanent license key on your system. For Windows users, the Registration Wizard can be found on your Start Menu, listed as one of the entries in the NewTek LightWave v9 group - Registration. On the Mac, you will find the Registration Wizard in the Programs folder. Run the Registration wizard, and follow the instructions to place your permanent key on your system.
If you have any difficulty with the registration wizard, place the provided License Key in a file called 'License.key' in your LightWave v9 programs directory. (Normally, this will be: C:\Program Files\LightWave v9\Programs.
|
| If you purchased LightWave [8] with Vue 5, use your LightWave serial number on the install CD. If you pre-purchased the upgrade to LightWave v9 with Vue 5, you will use the 10 digit LightWave code on the Vue 5 CD. |
If you have a prevois version of LightWave 9.x installed you can copy the license.key from the
MacHD:Applications:NewTek:LightWave 3D 9.X:programs
And Place it in the folder located at
MacHD:Applications:LightWave3D 9:SharedSupport
You can also download a emtpy license.key from
ftp://ftp.newtek.com/pub/LightWave/
For Mac double click on the zip file once downloaded and it will generate a license.key file that you can edit with TextEdit. |
When running Windows Vista you will have to go to the LightWave folder under
C:\Program Files\NewTek\LightWave 3D 9\Programs
And move the license.key file to the desktop then right click on it and choose edit. Delete all the information inside and type in your permanent key. With the permanent key now entered close the key file and choose yes to save the file. Now move the license key back in to the
C:\Program Files\NewTek\LightWave 3D 9\Programs
You should be able to now open the program without the Discovery Mode. |
