I have "Motion Picture Models" that were probably created in 5.6 or earlier. I have tried to load them into 7.5 and all I get is a hang up. I get the error message "place disc in drive" and I have to use task manager to get out of the loop. Happens in both Layout and Modeler.
Thanks

Sounds to me more like wrongly converted models from another app. Perhaps you would be best of loading them into another app and then re-export them. Try Deep Exploration, PolyTrans or Cinema 4D. Hell, there are even some free converters around. Key point is that those tools will possibly ignore any errors in the file and re-construct them correctly (within their limits - you quite likely will loose materials and texture info and all polys will be triangulated).

Sounds to me like there trying to load a texture that was located on a drive that in your computer is your CD Rom, for example if they had C and D as hard drives but u only have C and D is your CD Rom it would try to find the files from your cd rom drive, try inserting any cd into the drive so it reads it but doesn't find the file it wants, it should then ask u if u want to look for the file yourself.

Not sure what is going on but there is one model that I can load from that CD. What I am wondering is if there is someway that the producers of the CD were able to block the use of the other models on the CD. It has been a while since I bought this CD but, I may have only purchased that one model. I used it when I bought it but never tried the other models until now.
Any ideas??
Thanks
John
