How do I force the assignment of SX-8 inputs on the switcher?

It's a simple task really but Tscript is not performing as expected. I'm not a programmer but this doesn't seem right. I should be able to "SetPreviewRow(1)" and then "AddInputByName("DSR1500")" to my screen build and That input should be set at Switcher preview bus channel 1.
RIGHT?
grrrr.
I'm not sure, but I think SetPreviewRow() is the equivilent of selecting an input on the preview bus. Is there an input on 1 already? Maybe if you cleared the switcher with DeleteAllSelectedBOBConnectors() then started adding the inputs. I believe that the AddInputByName() sticks it in the first available input, not necessarily the one selected on the preview bus. I hope that helps.

The few the proud, the limited 5 that do VT coding...
SetPreviewRow seems broken or is it just us??
Andrew? Aussie?
Help?
We almost have a plugin for the swither done. We just need the setpreview to make everything work correctly. We just want to set the preview bus on the switcher to an input of our choice. If any of you fellow coders figure it out, please email us right away.
I believe QuantumVista said it most elegantly.... GRRRRRR>!

You're spot on Kris. But I have yet to see the switcher clearing command work . I call it from two different places and the second time even has a wait state preceeding it so I can WATCH it work. But it doesn't.
I'm building screens with default assignments that don't require settings documents -(I actually was able to use the settings document in a sort of sneaky way)-
Yeah the AddInputByName action is exactly what I'm looking for, my concept so far:
clear everything, build screen, assign inputs, display preview and program, launch DDR with setup Clip, Switch to DDR Channel, Roll Deck, Roll DDR Clip, display Deck output on program. sit back, relax, and enjoy standardized leader for 1050+ Public Access Users.
So far, about halfway there.
