Tim, Paul, Andrew...
After submitting my comments to Chuck yesterday for the brochure he was assembling and a talk with a fellow event videographer who is looking for a NLE system, it got me thinking.
We need real time DV out to make the Toaster tempting to the event market. I had to explain to my friend why he doesn't need it, but your competition is making that more and more difficult. Canopus is offering a solution that is real time out that is cheaper than the toaster!
Since from all indications T3 will not be shipping with real time DV out, how about this, an add on card! How about developing and marketing a firewire card that will provide real time DV out of the Toaster!
I realize Newtek is trying to avoid the "custom" chips syndrom, but maybe it's time to cosider it to gain a market share in the event video market! I'm tired of seeing fellow videographers go with Canopus because of DV!
Brian
PS Multicam, Film Grain! too! :D
