VT4, SDI and Alpha/Preview Out

Seems like I saw in the feature comparison list that the SDI board will output Alpha or Preview on the spare connector when used with VTPro board.

1. Can anyone with new board, VT4 and SDI setup confirm this?

2. Can VT3's optional SDI board and bridge board be connected to new Pro board?

Brad,

The SDI card is the same for VT[3] and VT[4].. If you already own the SDI, it will work fine with your shiny new VT[4].

BTW: For those of you who already have the upgrade.. .Brad is the guy to thank for many of the SUPER High Qualtiy new DVE's.! The page peels are awesome!!

If the answer is yes, I guess that is only with the new board or does the VT4 software enable it in the SDI board with the old board. Ok that was kinda confusing... here's what I would like to know: Will the SDI board give you Alpha/Preview out with the new VTPro board and VT4 software? Will the SDI board give you Alpha/Preview out with VT3 board and VT4 software?

Brad to answer your questions from the replies I got from Andrew
1 VT4pro card and SDI card= SDI alpha/PV out
2VT3 card and SDI card = no alpha/PV out
The "core in VT1/2/3 cards is not "big" enough to allow this plus there would be insufficient bandwidth on the 32bit PCI bus
The core in VT4pro card is bigger and operating at 66meg has the necessary bandwidth to allow the PV/Alpha out.

Thanks Mark, that is what I figured.

Hope you enjoy the DVE's. We did all of them (about 120) and was about to hand over to Paul when we were told they needed PAL as well. :eek: Glad to know all that labor may be worth it to some...

SDI board give me Alpha/Preview out

But everytime i have some "jumps" in the video signal

I have a VT4 w/sync

All the prodhouse use the same sync without any problems. The cable is tested and ok.

The Component videosignal have the same sync_jump

Any help is welcome
