Capture video with an alpha channel

Hello,

I have the basic VT2 card without any extras!

I'm trying to find the best method to capture, in realtime, a video sequence that will also has an alpha channel. I know that RTV can accommodate an alpha channel but what combination of cable connections do I need to make in order to capture all the information simultainiously.

If this is an obvious question, I apologise.

It's not that it's an 'obvious' question, it's that at the moment, it's an impossible solution. there is not any way to currently capture a live stream and have it 'know' what is Alpha.

If you can capture video with a blue or green screen in the background, you can use the chroma or Cross-keyer to replace that color with other video (even live if you want)...

If the video you'd like to capture has two sources, one for the video and one for the alpha, I think you could capture them separately and composite them in Aura (though I've never tried this personally)...
