i am going out of my head trying to find ANY documentation regarding the use of Lscripts.

i cannot find out:
how to 'install' them, if that is even what you do with them,
where to put them if you have to select a specific folder,
how to access it,
how to run it
i have spent far too much time looking for HOW to do this and now i give up.

will somebody please explain this?

and why the heck doesn't the manual tell you how to use them???

'online documentation?' what is that?

good grief!
anyone please help!!!

Lightwave 8:-

Utilities tab, Plugins section: Add Plugin. This brings up a file browser window. You locate C/Prgram Files/lightwave8/Plugins/LScripts and chose the script you want to install.

Lightwave 7.5:-

Main tools column, Layout/Plug-ins/Add Plug-ins. Unlike in LW8, the Lscript folder is in the main Lightwave folder.

Was this what you were talking about?

Cheers,

you mean to tell me that an lscript is installed the very same way a plugin is?
for cripes sakes, why doesn't the ****ed manual just say that!!!
argh!

well thanks for informing me, better late than never.
i have been trying to figure it out for weeks

i hate to bring this up, but:

"LScript — This is LightWave’s built-in scripting language. LScripts can be installed and used just like plugins."

page 10: lw8 manual

oh i know what it says, i must have read that 20 times.
silly me didn't take it to be 100% literal.

i interpereted that as meaning that the EASE with which they are installed is like the ease with which one installs a plugin, but NOT the method in which one installs a plugin: they also added 'see online documentation for further information' which further confounded me, i took that to mean that the answer to HOW to install them lies ONLINE somewhere.

the wording is not really clear.

why couldn't they just say "install an lscript in the exact same manner in which you install a plugin, using the add plugin dialogue box"

Glad this thread was here. I did exactly the same thing (wasted two weeks of on again/off again searching).
Personally, I think the manual could say something like "install and use like plugins, through the 'Add Plug-In' interface."
