Archviz anima.... I've just figure out how to compress it enough to reduce the size to a managable 2,6 mb... there is 900 frames originally 1 GB out from LW ....
Enjoy... (Divx5,11.mov)

I have no idea, it does not open on my PC either... but if I make a DIVX avi, then it does not open on Macs... anyone on this..... :o

I didn't even know there was a divx for quicktime. I am thinking, either they are not compatable with each other, or the mac file needs to be flattened. I have read that somewhere, that pc's can not read quicktime files unless they are flattened. Maybe that will help, who knows. I don't have a mac to test my theorys on.

Well, like I said I read it someplace and that was years ago, it may not even be necessary anymore, that was before you could create quicktime files on the PC or atleast before Apple had a program for the PC to create their files. Anyways, like I said only a theory, since I don't own a MAC I can't confirm or deny anything about flattening files.
I am not even sure what they meant by flattening, whether it was just adding a header to the file or if MAC files are created with layers and they need to be in one layer kind of like lightwave does with its layers. I don't know I am only guessing here. And rambling on.

Well thanks for guessing anyway... I've checked, and there is only one layer... well, I'll put an avi when I have 10 min free.... :)

I checked on divx web site and I think I figured it out. divx on the mac is a quicktime file and divx on the pc is an avi file. Thats why they are not compatable. All this time I thought they had there own file format, when they are nothing more than a codec masking as a file format. Currently they don't offer the codec for quicktime on the pc side. It would not suprise me if they don't offer the codec for the windows media player on the mac either.
You might want to try exporting as a mp4. That codec is available on the pc version of quicktime. It seams to be equal or a little smaller on file size.

Just make to direct links (not to pages but to the files).
1st files is your .mov fie that u have the 2nd should be a copy that you have changed the extension on to .avi
By the way I’ve I made a htm page here to do this in note page and have watched your file on PC by changing the extension it’s very nice.

Right click here (http://users.coditel.net/topixel/images/vasefx2.mov) and choose Save Target As then rename the file from .mov to .avi - job done

Very much liked it, love the DOF change. Do you mind saying where the; trees (presume onyx), roses and good looking wall ivy come from?
Hervé

hey, glad you liked it... well the big maple tree comes from X-frog, the olive tree in the pot is tree designer, and the roses... well I've just modeled them directly in our trusty LW...
Thanks
