Hi all, I need to control a number of VT DDRs (amongst other things) remotely from another app, but my problem is that all DDRs have the same window name - DDR, thus I can't send TS commands to them individually. I think I might be able to get round this by writing a plugin for VT which can route the messages to the correct DDR, but now I have another problem - how??? The Toasterscript docs do talk about editor plugins, but mention files that are not in the SDK, and I can't make head nor tail of the SDK anyway.
Can anyone offer me any help or advice?
Thanks very much in advance.

Simple actually. Okay well sort of. OKay Okay not really at all. :)
You can call each individual DDR by sending a focus command via keyboard shortcuts. Alt-F1 sends focus to the 1st DDR, Alt-F2 sends focus to the 2nd DDR, and Alt-F3 sends focus to the 3rd DDR.
I am sure I could help you if I knew a bit more about your application. We are more or less the kings when it comes to getting around things in VT. What is the other app you are using that you refered to??
IF you don't want to talk about it online then feel free to email me offline.

Aha that's a possible way around it, thanks! What I'm doing is, I'm making some software that will enable us to control both VT and a Datavideo SE800 digital switcher by means of a Videotek PDG-418 control desk, for producing live (and 'shot as live') TV. This is mainly for a shopping channel, and there are a LOT of stills and clips that need to be played out from three DDR's, controlled via the keypad and display on the desk.
It all works great so far, apart from the DDR's...
I'll try your suggestion, I had not thought of sending keypresses to VT before.

We have had success with progammable keyboards like the XKeys unit for defining the dedicated shortcuts for specific functions.

If you wanted to could load 3 different XKeys 20 button keyboard with specific functions and use them to independently run each DDR. Not always the most perfect way but still very functional.
Give me a shout if I can help.
