Here's two illustrations (the client chose the 'day' version [apparently too many shadows on houses are not good for this type of drawring]) but I like the evening one...

I like the evening one too. It all depends on what the picture is for.
The evening one looks like the day to me (parts of the sky are very bright and the house appears to be lit by a sunshine pouring through a break in the clouds) with a foreboding storm. There's a slightly sinister atmosphere because of the dark leaves framing the foreground.
That's my take anyway.
Love it.

Looking good. First thing that struck me was the entourage against and behind the house look a bit odd. The edges have a funny feathering effect to them and look sharper than the house.
It is a little blurry too. Did you scale up the image or use some smoothing function? Perhaps you posted in the landscaping?
And lastly, the wall on the right is looking flat - not enough contrast with the front wall.
But the modeling looks good and I like the grass. Night scene looks the best.
Good job.

Has anyone noticed how quick the trees behind the house grew over night .. |-)
all trees aside, its still good work.
Thanks for the posting,
I like it,
(the sky in the evening shot looks a little weird to me..)
the grass looks pretty good, did you use sasquatch?

pauland: thanks, I've noticed the architecture firms prefer crisp clean renderings of houses with minimal shadows so I guess thats how I'm gonna have to do it next time..
gaushell: it's probably the clip map applied to the trees that look funny... doesn't blend well against the backdrop... and yeah, the right wall should be darker... I'll fix'em up for the next illustration
Nigel Baker: I used the plugin called Super Manure to grow them trees quick! :P (actually I had to do a seperate background from the first because it wasn't well received)
JML: yeah it's a pretty crazy lookin' sky... I used three instances of Saslite for the grass

I think both have a "blurry" dreamy quality that I am not sure I like...kind of feeling something evil is about to occur. I am like most architects I like sharp and clean edges. Nice work just the softness that bothers me.
