(I've mentioned this before, but not on the new board...)

E.g. between markers, or across a region, rather than being limited to everything in the timeline. The present workaround is to create a subproject and loop play it in the edit props panel, but it would be more efficient to be able to do it in the timeline.

Let's say I'm working on a transition or a montage within a larger project and I want to watch it a few times from afar to see if it feels right.

Or let's say, if I want to use the VT[3] to do a voiceover looping session to replace dialogue and use the video as a refererence.

Or when checking a simple audio edit...

Or, perhaps for foley work.....

Or how about loop play while making real-time color-correction adjustments?

Or, when trying to try out forthcoming audio sweeteners? Or to check how a voiceover is sitting in a "multichannel," i.e. multi-file, mix?

Or, when trying to assess the placement of that killer soundeffect, both in terms of timing and within the mix?

..etc., etc.

Just updated/edited my post (above) on this topic.

I really think this would be a good feature, particularly in light of the fact that NewTek is considering creating its own "real time" audio sweeteners.

The clip-based loop function that exists in the edit panel is cumbersome when trying to do a mixdown of several elements. I.e. you have to loop one clip/wave file at a time, then create a subproject and loop that to check the mix, then go back and select the individual clip and re-edit that, etc.

I can't speak for others, but I would use this feature on 90% + of my editing sessions....
