View Full Version : Speed Razor 5.5 - Any WorkFlow tips?

If I pull an RTV on to the Speed Razor Timeline, I can scrub trough it, but it shows up on the Toaster outputs as not yet rendered.

The whole point in using the Toaster is to get away from the old "rendering please wait" chestnut.

Am I doing something wrong?

Suggestions for the speedest work flow please.

I generally do as a general rule Jim.:D

I was trying to get information on what speed Razor is good at, where it is an advantage to use it instead of Ted, and what the best workflows are if you have to use it.

Transitions or overlays are the only things you should have to render. Sounds like something's not set correctly.

Have you run the 3rd Party Applications utility in Start | Programs | Video Toaster 2 | Utilities?

With razor 5.5 all audio problems have been resolved.
make sure that the video toaster driver is installed in razor.
Boris works with razor.
Inscriber title motion works with razor.
and transitions that can affect alpha chanels such as boris work with razor.
I use razor for short form edit such as tv spots, and use Ted for long form edits (Plays, Wed Ect).
Ted has many advantages (Realtime everything)
Razor is one of the best vertical composditing editors available.
I dont have to use outside programs to do compositing.
even boris can output to the toaster buffer with out closing the transition or effect!
If you are having any problems with razor please contact me direct. I work with the razor beta team. and do demo's with the software.

SR 5.5 is touting some sort of murkily defined "real time". Does anyone know what it does/does not do in real time? We're looking at upgrading, but not if we still have to render everything.

OK Paul,

I'm not at that system at the moment, I'm working away from Home.

The VectorScope and ToasterVision come up, I can see the clip as I scrub through it, but if I try to play the timeline, I get the "Not Yet rendered Image" in the ToasterVision monitor on screen.

Will test it when I get back home the weekend after next.

BTW when will the Beta test of VT[3] for PAL be ready and available for us poor Europeans?:p

the 5.5 install utility will placr the correct driver into razor to use with 3890 toaster build.
this is the same driver that 3rd party installs
