it could be done in Aura... but i am no aura-guru...
if you dont want to stretch the pictures you have to re-size them with the same proportions... i.e. 800x600 goes well to 400x300 even 1600x1200(except for pixelating)
This way you will have no stretch...

But since all your pics have soo different sizes you have to crop [cut off some on the rims] one or another picture to fit...

i.e.

You have 4 Pictures
300x200
600x400
800x600
1200x1200

so you maybe enlarge the smallest to

600x400

so you have already 2 pics the same size... the 800x600 is going to me resized 1/3 smaller, so 600x400 too...

well the 1200x1200 could be resized to 600x600 and then you have to crop to 600x400...

i hope this helps...

One approach, off the top of my head:

- Size your project to the resolution you need for your output purposes (i.e., 720X486 for an NTSC VT[2], etc.).

- Load the images one at a time using File> Import Brush

- In the Edit Brush menu, click Lock Aspect on

- Again, in Edit Brush, scale one of the two dimensions (X or Y) to the corresponding project dimension (720 or 486 in our example).

- Paste the brush into the frame 'to taste.'

This will give you the maximum area of the original you're going to get, while retaining the original aspect (which may or may not be correct) as well. Dealing with square pixels going to video output would require a little more effort.
