When you put it on the timeline did it conform the audio?

Yeah, a little more descriptive, please. Did you get NO video at all or a freeze frame? Video but no audio, audio but no video or neither?

As Keith asked, did it conform?

Anything else installed on that computer that might conflict?

Your 160GB raid, is that the OS drive or seperate? I have captured to my MacBook Pro internal HD fine and played back fine without any problem so this shouldnt even matter on yours. Did you see the video in the preview window while capturing?

Radeon 9200 cards don't support pixel shader 2.0 or DirectX 9 in hardware. You can install DirectX 9, but it falls back to software, not hardware accelerated mode.

Look in the Preferences and change the Output Window to a lower setting, such as Medium or Low GPU usage.

Note: you must restart SpeedEDIT for this change to take effect.

Low should work on most cards, but we really require hardware support for DirectX 9.

Just try making the video window smaller ;)

Thanks, a few more details:

When you put it on the timeline did it conform the audio?

Keith Nealy Productions

I used two clips, the first was a left over from a pinnacle system I was using, which was recorded from firewire audio was 48k/16b. the clip had a thumbnail and the audio conformed. and no video output. Since the questions were asked I went back to check the clip I captured with firewire, which has a thumbnail, but no wave form on the time line. The properties indicate it captured audio as 2 ch. 32k/16b. Neither will play, not even a still frame shows on the "vt vision" monitor. And there is no wave form on the time line for the clip I captured with SE. I see no place to control the audio such as preferences.

I don't really know this answer. I did uninstall(with pleasure) the liquid nle and restarted. I was curious about the engine, VT uses winrtme, however I did not see that file in task manager. Might be something else that does the work.

Chad Davis

the raid is dedicated to video, the system drive is a separate 80g 5400rpm.

Further tests. I captured a couple more minutes and it captured the audio 48K/16b 2 ch. and it conformed, but still wont play back. All clips are interlaced 29.97. I hope this helps. I surely appreciate your response. Lee
