View Full Version : Direct X | VST stacking for VT

I would like to see the ability for VT to use Direct X or VST plug-ins usually found in applications like Cubase VST or Nuendo for sending audio out to and have it return on the main bus.

We need to have the audio equivalent of the SX-8 on the mixer routing audio signals out of each channel to FX and have the proper delay put in so that video does not fall out of sync.

I could easily see myself doing simple audio mix downs if this was available to VT, using TEd's spline controls for fade ins, outs and "aux sends" to FX channels and the ability to set a "tempo" for music or perhaps have some form of "beat detection" so that FX move, sweep or can be linked and assigned to follow tempo.

Crazy stuff??

...no, not crazy stuff.
Add sub-frame audio and I'll be a happy camper.
May be in VT[4] ?
I tend to do lot's of audio in my editor too (discreet edit 6.0), and with a couple more features it could easily compete with lower end audio software, with the added benefit of being integrated, and no more importing / exporting (either of audio files or EDLs) and losing the video image in the process.

Cheers,
Mike
