Hi,

I've just watched the demo video for Tricaster Studio. Awesome. I'm thinking of buying it.

However, I do have two questions and hope you can help me understand:

1. Has it been released already?

2. Tricaster now is seems to be very similar to VT[4]. Before the Studio version for Tricaster, everyone who needed a lot of I/O had to go with VT. But now, Tricaster has a good amount of I/O options and also has that virtual set funcionality (that VT seems to lack). So, my question is: what are NewTek's plans for VT. Will VT and Tricaster become a single product? Can anybody please help me understand that?

Thanks in advance,

Helder Conde

Some unofficial replies, based on educated guesswork:

1. Has it been released already? No (this is definite.)

2. Will VT and Tricaster become a single product? Can anybody please help me understand that? This seems very unlikely to me. TC-S is definitely a cool and powerful product, but it's design is deliberately simplified, condensed...

VT brings LW and Aura into the mix, as well as the mega i/o port SX-84 breakout box, and a more powerful editor (at the expense of some added complexity.) I'd be very surprised if VT and TC somehow became a single product.

Steve,

Thanks for your answer and for putting some light into those doubts.

Just one more: do you know when TC Studio will be released?

Thanks!

Helder

Just one more: do you know when TC Studio will be released? Not for sure, no - the universal answer for this sort of question is "six weeks" (which usually means 'pick a number') ;)

In this case, I don't think that would be a bad guess, but it's just a guess, and could be entirely wrong.

Tricaster has a good amount of I/O options and also has that virtual set funcionality (that VT seems to lack).
"3rd Channel", a plug in from Bob Tasa, includes Virtual Set Technology for VT[4]. Has foreground capability, side by sides, capability of moving people around the frame for such. Pretty much the exact same thing as on TriCaster Studio, best I can tell from what I know about Studio.
