Because Newtek isn't even mentioned.

Shhh... SpeedEDIT's a secret, you don't want the competition knowing, now do you! :hey:

No, it's short for SEXY, but that's the real secret.;)

And remember, American bumpersticker democracy rules apply: If you didn't vote, you can't complain.

For version 1.0 software, I think it did pretty well in the previous poll.

Yes, if you believe it's version one and no one voted for it because they use VT. Oops, some did say that they voted for it even though they don't use it since it is the closest thing on the list to VT. (because you wouldn't believe me) (http://videotoasternt.com/forums/read.cgi?51260) Oh, and if you go to the forums for most of the other products (I don't visit all of them) you won't see a "Vote for us" thread, go ahead and check. Let me know if you need those links.

Just saying for the company that started the desktop video revolution to not even be mentioned might seem a little embarrassing... or maybe not.

But SpeedEDIT is a new product... Isn't it silly to expect it to have a strong showing compared to established products? SpeedEDIT has barely been shipping for a few months.

Given those circumstances, I could see how Newtek might lobby for votes...

As for "Just saying for the company that started the desktop video revolution to not even be mentioned might seem a little embarrassing... or maybe not."

I don't remember the start of the desktop video revolution involving a NLE. Was Newtek known for the Toaster or the Flyer? I think the answer on that one is clear.

It could also be that most SE owners are busy professionals who don't have time for polls.

This poll isn't strictly concerned with NLE software - they also list Photoshop and AE. I also don't see Avid on the list. It looks like they took the most widely used products based on their other polls and are now trying to narrow THAT down...

Don't despair. The fact that SE did as well as it did, above well established programs like Liquid and Edius, is a good thing!

Plus if you know the origin of Digital Juice it really is a shame that nothing from Newtek made that list. Remember Club Toaster??
