I already posted this in the LW - Community forum, but I think it's important enough to mention here. QuickTime can put you RAID arrays at serious risk, under Vista.

More info - and note that iTunes is suspect, too. that said, the buck passing seems to focus mostly on Intel and Microsoft, and that similar issues involving RAIDs may occur without any Apple software involvement:

I'm using a Marvell 61xx RAID setup. Not an Intel one.
I wonder why all other software works, when Apple can't even make a simple media player work without taking down the whole system?

I'm not their greatest fan, but this seems to go beyond problems with a couple of Apple products. Arguably, testing might have revealed the issue to them, but the same may be true of others, and as they say - hindsight is 20-20.

Remember, Mac bought most of it's major programs.
Then Mac tweaked their OS to work. This is an on going method of Mac development.
A good reason mot to own a Mac.
