I am not an XSI user but I must admit I was impressed by the way they promote themselves on THEIR SITE (http://www.softimage.com/home/)
it's about time they right the wrongs in common perception that maya is the leading movie production tools when in fact nearly all photo-real-monster movies were in fact done even on that ancient SI3.8
also,their Fully Functiona lDemo (http://www.softimage.com/products/exp/v3/) is something to be considered by Newtek too
