I'm trying to see if there is a way to stop automatic audio crossfades when I drag two clips together. I want video only to crossfade, not the audio. Even when I unlock streams, as soon as I move the audio to sync with the video it inserts an audio crossfade to match the video transition. Thus far, the only way i've found around it is to cut and repaste the audio. Just wondering if there's anything i'm missing.

click to highlight the audio portion of the clip. Have the toolshed open Click on the plus sign by "advanced" and uncheck the auto fade in and auto fade out

This is 100% correct...except ;) Toolshed should say Control Tree (or edit properties).

I still really think the default setting for this should be Auto Fade Off.
And then have a preference to turn it to on.

As it is there is no way to use a toolshed preset to select a number of clips and turn the autofades off on them all at the same time. You have to painstakenly do it one at a time.

However if the fades were off by default we could use a preset to turn them all on at once.

Can't you multi-select the clips you want using the Ctrl key and/or the shift key and then apply the Toolshed preset to the selected clips?

To help with this, as you go along, you might want to put all the audio clips which will need an autofade on track 3, and all the clips you do not want to autofade on track 4, and then with the mouse you can easily select all the track 3 clips or all the track 4 clips and apply the desired preset.

To UNCHECK the Auto Audio Crossfades - nope.

Try to save the state of an unchecked value for that control in a toolshed.
Doesn't work.

For the most part the toolshed does not save values of zero or unchecked items.

A trick for getting Toolshed to impose a zero value:

Let's say you want to make Brightness=0. What you do is change a nearby property such as Contrast to something (let's say 23). Then you save the preset. Then in the Toolshed for that preset you make sure that Brightness is Checked (enforce) and you make sure Contrast is unchecked (unEnforced).

Then you apply the preset to any clip, and Brightness is set to zero, and Contrast is uneffected.

Hope this helps.

The one place I wouldn't think to look... went through the pref's and nothing. Thanks!
