TriCaster Studio works great but...
Is the SpeedEdit that is included with the TriCaster a "lite" version?
On the Newtek/Speededit website I noticed that Speededit has a "customize" option in the render tab. I'm looking for more options when I render to DVD than just the 90 or 120 minute option.
Also, any way to display the safe area on the Live Output monitor in the live production mode?

Is the SpeedEdit that is included with the TriCaster a "lite" version?Well, I suppose you could say it's a bit 'calorie-reduced; compared to SE, yes. Like many things in TC, it's intended to be simple and straightforward.
Also, any way to display the safe area on the Live Output monitor in the live production mode? No, but that's a good idea. You should put it the feature request forum. :)

Irodmedia -- if you're still lurking, which model TriCaster STUDIO do you have?
Anywho, know that your creating, say, a 5-minute DVD from a file rendered at the 90 minute setting is going to be the very best you can get from that codec.
Admittedly, knowledge of what I've posted here piques one's curiosity, about what difference there is, codec-design speaking, between those two settings in that there render panel -- especially if it made it into the new-and-improved 2.0-Upgraded TriCaster iterations.

I'm still here...Tricaster Studio 2.0.
I rendered out a 27 minute show in Speededit with the 90 minute setting. The DVD looked ok, but not nearly as what Compressor (I'm a Final Cut Studio user) can do. With Compressor I can come close to filling up a disc. The DVD created with Speededit was less than half the space of the disc, that's why I wanted to know if the version of Speededit that comes with the Tricaster is a less than full version.
Also, that "agnostic mpeg" doesn't work very well in FCP,!

There is a new update for Tricaster Studio 2.0 that has a lot of improvements with mpg2 that works great with FCP, but you will need to install a mpg2 plug in for FCP, see Apple home page.

I thought I had the mpeg2 plug in for Quicktime already installed, but just to be sure I downloaded and installed another copy hoping this would fix my problems. The mpg created with the Tricaster will not play in Final Cut Pro 6 without being rendered and it will not play in Quicktime 7.? at all. It will play a couple of frames and the disappears. So I am relly curios how you guys are getting theses clips to play in FCP.
