I played around with FiberFX last week and came up with these. I'm encouraged by what I see so far with this addition to LW. Comments are welcome.

Yep. There are 700 of them. See screenshot with FFX settings.

Sexy. Great application for FiberFX.

I suppose then it could also be used for steel cables in bridges, no? I wonder if it can be used with an IK chain an animate through a pulley system.

Man... I wish I could go to Chipotle...

I saw this on the SQ forums...it's fantastic! It's one of the best examples of of one of the new 9.5 features. This needs to be submitted to NT for marketing purposes, seriously solid work.

It works great on the lampshade details, but the grass doesn't look so convincing.
Are there any examples of the toughest use of fibre plugins, which is realistic long hair?

I could see this on a Pixar Short or something like that Big Buck Bunny. It might need a different type of lighting to be pulled off as super realistic.

Very nice indeed. Now post a start to finish tutorial on how the rest of us can get the same results.

Wow I'm honored. Apparently NT thought it worthy. http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/95_gal.phpGee if I would have known it was going to be so well received I would have tightened things up a bit, after all they were just some quick tests to see what FFX might be capable of. Thanks all, and be sure to check out NT's new LW site.

Wow! very nice!

I love the use of FiberFX for the fringe of the lampshade... I hadn't thought about that sort of use.

Good thinkin' :D

I might be crazy but I think the texture of the lampshade itself in the first image is the coolest part of the whole thing. Is that using fiberFX somehow, or how else did you get such a nice fabric look?
