View Full Version : how to import .3ds file into lightwave
Hi i was wondering if anyone knows how to import .3ds files in to lightwave? Can lightwave even do it or is there a plugin i need to get to be able to do it? please help thanks

yeah pretty sure, I think since its not a standard you'll have to go to the folder its in and click the dropdown to ALL files (to see it), then a dialog with some settings open, that should do it. modeller anyway.

i think you can directly open .3ds file format into LW by using load objects command then choose all file formats, and then choose the .3ds file you want to open
Try to get inhold of Right hemishpere´s Deep Exploration I think it´s better than most export / import plugins.. and it handles most 3d and 2d formats.
It´s costs money though... However there is a trial version ( 30 days or so )..
