View Full Version : Matt FiberFX "Grizzly Adams" Test!

Matt

Okay, I am sooooo going to get some stick for this, but I've wanted to try it in FiberFX for ages!

What would I look like with a beard! :D

This is more of a proof of concept test rather than a photo real attempt, the 'beard holder' geometry underneath isn't matched perfectly, close, but not exact.

It was a quick test, didn't take long to setup, render time 1m 30s.

Cheers
Matt

matt, is there a way to make ffx stick in clumps like your hair? because I think ffx always looks too thin. for dry hair it looks really good like in this thread
http://www.spinquad.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23497

but if I want to make something like your hair in this photo with that wet look where several hairs stick and make a 'larger' fiber?

You look like Obi Wan .... Ep1,2,3 ...

FibreFX shows us something quite clearly in this example... don't grow a beard Matt... :)

I thought people just stood in front of the bathroom mirror closed one eye and squiggled away with a felt tip pen, it's a lot easier and quicker and it's interactive too.

sweeeeet...

hey, i see a "what do you look like with a fiberfx beard thread coming on"....

jin

p.s. geeez, see even something like this would have been an awesome way to sell fiberfx! how cool would it have been to see a big honkin' gallery of lw users with fiberfx beards showing off all the hair features!

Probably most of us don't need LW to make beards for us since we sit in front of the computer so long, we all have real beards. LOL I tend to forget what time it is and next thing I know my wife comes in and says it's 3am.

I'd like an extension of that on my scalp, grown a bit errr sensitive there over the years.

Haha fantastic. So when are you doing some alternate beard styles? You should do a 'special' version of the FFX manual, with your beard with all the options settings, in a large photo grid :D

Seriously though, that hairdo looks very realistic, you've even got that 'gel' look spot-on

BTW, I'm also hoping to see other's post theirs - could be fun!

Couldn't you have at least googled for a bald head on google photos to comp in? The weekly world news may have a job for you. (I love that paper)

The soft edges around it make it look like grizzly bear hair shot from a distance like in nature docs.
