Here's a new digital painting I am doing at the moment, my entry at Wacom's contest.
The story I created behid this image is that in the future robots are becoming more human, their programming and artificial intelligence have evolved to cope with humanity and their vanity, while humans on the other hand are becoming more and more reliant on the technology that most most population of the earth are in many ways integrated to the technology, however robots are still considered a synthetic being not capable of human emotion. Offline is tragic story about two beings that has blurred the distinction between being human and being a robot in the near future and how they struggle be accepted.

OK, here's my recent update. I've change a lot from the last WIP. Painted a blue dress and add few more details. I am happy with the over-all sketch so I am going to continue in this direction which is more closer to my pencil drawing. Any advice is welcome!

Looks good. :)
I like the jumpsuit she is wearing more then the bikini. It's more fitting it seems and visually appealing for the image.

What did you use to draw the original "blue" sketch. This looks really really good great job and i love the little cracks and holes in the robots armour adds more of a backstory!

Hi Tippsy,
The blue was added afterwards as I progress into the painting. I do a lot of changes until I get the right feel, color, position and shapes. The sketch was just really a guide, as you can see the from the beginning of the painting up to my last post it changes dramatically. Color is very important, I try to match or compliment the colors I used as it also say something about the story and background of the painting.
Cheers!

I meant what tool did you use to draw the original sketch on this page, it is drawn in some awesome blue pencil.

Hi Tipsy,
oh it's the Faber Castell architect pencil, the one with very long pencil leads, I use blue for designing products hence I use it also when I drew anything.

looking excellent...maybe we shoudl see something of her right shoulder..feels a bit off without it showing above her right breast with her right arm being in that pose.....could be the torso needs a slight turn toward camera and the breasts 'deforming to gravity...still that would depend on the bra/suit i think!
also the length/position of the elbow on each arm don't match up..one is much longer than the other
BTW...i'm totally poo at drawing so i'm only going on what i see and my opinion!

Then you can have fun. Nice work.
