A coworker saw me rendering something and joking suggested I make his plastic tiki toy...and so I did.
It felt like a challenge since I have never created a model with 100% Sub-D and it is my first experience dealing with a plastic surface. Not bad but could be better...

Cool tiki! Can we see the wires? The surface actually looks more like ceramic- which would make it look like a tiki mug if it was hollowed out.

Wow! that came out really great! I, too, would love to see your wires.
I think you might be able to tweak the texture a bit, as it's looking a bit CG-ish right now. Maybe add a really small bump map to it? Some more varied lighting might help a lot too. You might want to try to add a lightprobe and use a little raydiosity to add some realism to the lighting.
Love the model! :D

Sigh, cant find some of my files after cleaning up my directories.
I had a better render with much improved textures. Oh well, this was more an experiment, I am now just noticing some bad vertices after looking at the wire render...
